Thank you to everyone who came out to participate in the Cultural Heritage Festival at the Grand Rapids Public Museum on Saturday, November 2nd. Not only did the GRSS have a table at the event, but Scottish music and dancing were represented at the festival too! Thanks to the Adams for the music and the Kalamazoo Scottish Country Dancers for the beautiful dancing!
Thanks to the six members who came out Wednesday, October 23rd to volunteer at the Kids Food Basket! We had a "cheesy" good time bagging up cheese cubes to pack in take home dinner sacks for local low income school children. The dinner sacks are distributed at area schools. The day was full of fantastic Highland athletics, dancing, music, the gathering of old friends and the meeting of new friends!
Sparta Celtic Festival was a success this year! Thank you to all of the GRSS members who came out to man the table! We even had our own GRSS Treasurer, Cindy, participate in a few Celtic swordsman demonstrations.
Thanks to all the GRSS members who came out to help man the table at the Holland Celtic Festival on Saturday, June 22nd.
The monthly meeting happened to fall on May Day this year! The GRSS membership gathered to celebrate with a potluck, raffle, and participate in the annual Board Elections.
As part of the meeting, the GRSS membership thanked Treasurer Debbie Christy for 17 years of faithful service on the GRSS Board. She was given a card, gifts, and flowers.
On April 13th the Kalamazoo Valley and Grand Rapids Scottish Societies met for a fun and informal luncheon at Salvino's in Wayland. Our two groups enjoyed mingling and had a nice afternoon together celebrating Tartan Day.
On Saturday April 6th members of the GRSS attended the 2nd annual Tartan Day Festival at River Saint Joe Farm and Brewery. Thanks to all the GRSS members who participated and to those who drove the 90 minutes south to come out and enjoy an afternoon celebrating all things Scottish!

On Friday, November 17th, several members gathered for our annual St. Andrew's Day dinner at Keisers Kitchen in Lowell, MI.
For over a decade the GRSS has participated in the annual Cultural Heritage Festival at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Thank you to all the GRSS members who came out to man the table and also to Robert and Cammi Adams who played Scottish Traditional music on the Galleria Stage.
A heartfelt thank you to Dee Albin from Pour-d Teas in Rockford, MI. She gave the special presentation at the GRSS November 1st meeting. We learned about all of the different kinds of teas, how it is grown and processed, and a bit of tea history. Everyone enjoyed sipping all those delicious samples too!

Saturday, September 9th was a beautiful day to attend the Kalamazoo Scottish Festival and Highland Games. The GRSS once again manned a tent.
We had front row viewing to the athletics field where we all cheered on GRSS athletes Pat and his daughter Maggie!
Saturday, August 12th was a lovely day for the GRSS to man a table at the Sparta Celtic Festival. We have participated in this fantastic local festival for years.

Sunday afternoon, July 23rd, members gathered for the annual GRSS summer picnic held at the Adams family home. It was a lovely afternoon, the food was great, and the fellowship even better! Enjoy these photos from the picnic.
